Chevron Refinery FireChevron Refinery Fire
Breaking news coming in to a very warm San Francisco today is about the fire that has happened at the Chevron refinery in Richmond, California.
The fire broke out around 6.40pm this evening and two large plumes of smoke were seen rising rapidly into the air.

An urgent warning has gone out to residents of Richmond and the surrounding areas to shelter in place. That means that all air conditioning should be turned off and all windows and doors should be closed. A wet towel should be used to cover any gaps in doors.

Everyone is accounted for at the refinery and no injuries have been reported at Chevron.

San Francisco resident, Alice Marshall, says "It looks horrible from what we are seeing on the news and I believe residents are smelling something like tires and plastic. That can't be good if it gets into your lungs, particularly if you are susceptible to asthma. Motorists can see it on the local freeways so I hope it doesn't end up causing a lot of traffic delays in the area."
