Info needed

Man here at work right now! And we are now drilling into our third hole! We are drilling for peak energy res. of Texas and I don't think these guys know which direction they are going! First hole got to 10500 and had about 9 different dog legs, one was and 18degree dog leg, we was lucky to get out the hole without pulling something in half! Well came out cemented that hole from 1000 feet below the shoe, started the second hole and got to 10400 ft and came out for motor trip, went back in the hole got below shoe and couldn't find the hole, spent two days searching for the hole and never found we did find cement though, and came out for whipstock to be ran and set whipstock cut a window and know these guys still don't know which direction they want to go! These co- men here are the only ones I have seen in my 10 yrs want to ream in casing with a 2.1 degree motor and fresh bit, and two weeks ago Me and the pusher told the co- men that the mud engineer didn't know what the hell he was doing cause his mud sheet never changes in water base mud, and they wouldn't listen then today during pre- tour meeting the co-man comes in and tells me and the pusher (I don't think that mud engineer knows what the hell he is doing) man thanks for the rocket scientist out here! Can any one give me a suggestion so I can maybe guide these guys on how to TD this well!

Sounds like you they are in need of directional company to go out to steer for you. I do not see the connection between your directional problem and a bad mud engineer. In water base mud if you are maintaining your vis, weight, chlorides and pH then no, your mud sheet wont really change. I have been on several 7k ft laterals with brine and my fluid checks never changed from day to day because the crews maintained everything I asked them to.

Turn up the RPMs and take some weight off of the bit-start running surveys more often and if that does not work get a Verti Track in the hole.

thier money let em spend it thier way , you get paid by the hour and look at all the experience you get at thier exoense , it will come in handy later down the road. your not the one callin the shots therfore your not the one that looks like an idiot.
