red wings are overrated. way to expensive also. i bought a pull on pair for like 200 bucks...the inside barely lasted....and they soaked up water to quick.they werent to comfortable either.

i think the best boots are also real cheap...they are those georgia mud dogs...they sell them at academy...theyre comfortable ,inexpensive, last a long time....

Baffin boots are good too...especially for cold regions...

I talked with my sister and she said that you would not have a shipping cost, so even if you only got a 20% off a $200 boot thats $40 off, and it took about 5 days to get mine. To most guys in the patch thats chump change but if you like good deals hit her up and im sure it would be worth it!!...

I like Redwings but I have a wide foot and even if I get a size larger than I normally wear, the toe box always squeezes my toes. I have found Redwing makes a "King toe" 44% more room in the toe box than normal boots, they are a god send. Also I have found no matter the boot manufacturer, if you get a good pair of insoles they all feel good. Redwing makes a moldeable insole, pre-heat the oven to 200 degrees, place the insole in the oven till the dot on the insole turns black, place insole in boot, step into boot and viola! No matter if you have fallen arches or a high arch, they mold to your feet. They cost 30 to 45 dollars but are worth it and they are guaranteed for 2 years.

I've got a pair of Wolverine boots that are 5 years old and still going. Comfortable, waterproof, etc. 'Course I'm a consultant so I don't many complete trip's, etc., but they've been great. Only time I had to shuck them was when a 'safety nazi' told me that I had to have lace-ups. Why? Because, if you are welding and a spark falls down your pull-ons and burns your foot, you can sue and own the rig... lol I went to town and got a pair of Justins that fit. They are O.K., but I don't care for lace-ups. This was the same fool that told me to lose my wrist watch because it might pull my arm off, and I could sue... I can hardly wait 'til she wants to 'inspect' my OSHA jock-strap. I'll show her a 60 year old 'johnson' and ask if it passes inspection!

my husband has worked on rigs for like 13 years and he WILL NOT wear anything but a red wing....if you buy them at feed stores you can get them for like 140...he has tried a couple....and he will wear a pair of red wings with holes in them before he will buy ANYTHING else!
