Yes surre. Where exactly, you planning to work?
While my sister and brother-in-law aren't directly oil field, they both worked on the Sakhalin II project, he as a crane operator and she as a project manager. Living conditions for them are so-so, the food is poor and you're pretty much relegated to on location; there's no place to go and no way to get there. They did say that the oil field camp has better living conditions than the construction camp.

Travel is tough. You fly into the southern end of the island at Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, and then it's overland to whichever station you're assigned to. During the wet season, that generally means you're not going anywhere by vehicle as the mud and muck prevents any real form a travel overland; you end up waiting for the puddle jumper plane. In the winter the situation is similar, only worse. You travel by snowcat, but only if you have a clear day, not if the snow if flying.

The pay is pretty good, as they've both made good money working there. The working conditions vary, depends on if the people you work with take a liking to working with you how well you get on. Winters can be brutal cold, summers hot, muggy and bug infested.

Hope this helps some.
It's Far East Russia- Sakhalin Island on the massive Sakhalin project...... Tony, that sounds like what I might have to eduear.
Tony, do you think u can ask one of them if u can pass me there e-mail to ask a few questions please ?
I will Joe. Might be a bit before I get an answer, sometimes takes my sister awhile to get around to her email. I'll keep you updated.
