I haven't seen much for traffic concerning BH and what they're like to work for from a DD perspective. Anyone have any input / feedback?

great benefits and whatnot. They have alot of high end tools thats good for learning. They are however a large company so you have those disadvantages, but overall they were a great company, i worked there a year
hello Mr. Ackerman, I have been here at BH as a dd for several years now, and personally speaking, I am quite happy here. Yes, there are times when you wish you were doing something else, but as far as tools go, honestly, I have had to use Hunting, X Caliver, NOV, and other motors up here due to the client thinking that something better is out there, and I can tell you now, that is one of the things that has kept me liking what I do for so long. No one out there can touch the performance of a Baker motor or our rotary steerable tools. Besides that, I do get treated pretty good, and unfortunately because it is so busy up here in Pennsyltucky, I work alot, but, thats better than no work at all.
So yes, things here at Baker Hughes in my opinion, are pretty darn good.

I was going to ask the samething about Baker.  Been asked to interview with them as a DD and was curious as to how they are compared to say SLB.

Far better than SLB, worked for both.
Thanks Kim.  I worked for SLB as a MWD and it has got to be the worse place I have ever worked for.

I continue working for Baker, but not as a DD any longer. I hung up my boots and went to the office coordinating instead. I have a lot of DD's working for me and we have hired a lot of trainees lately and the one thing I always stress to them is " I have been in this business for 26 yrs and worked for lots of different companies and this is the best one I have ever worked for". Now that being said, I haven't worked for everyone. :)

I have 20 years in the patch and start for Baker Hughes Monday the 30th. I have been looking for a good spot for about a year and have done a lot of research and I truly believe BH is about the best one.  I have had a lot of offers in the last 6 months and have found a a lot humor and some of the expectations with what some of the companies have to offer. I am excited about becoming a part of BH DD team.

I think BH has better tools and their technology enhance permanently. The main competitor first of all is SHL, but they have harsh rotational shedule. I see only one big plus in SHL - huge workloads worldwide. I work in BH 5 years as DD and I am happy.
