Well, Buck, there are advantages and disadvantages. Advantages are better money, new life experience, meet new people that will definitely help you in the future career. But you may miss lots of the things you have in TX, miss people and even texan accent :-) . People are different everywhere, missunderstanding might appear, you have to accept everything as it is instead of get pissed off. You might work in multinational environment where all people think different with different vision of way of work. You have to try and see, all people are different, some can stand some not.
And another thing, what exactly are you going for? In the US you may meet lots of modern technologies to work with, in saudi probably the same. For example, I would love to go and work internationally to see new tools, work with RotarySteerableSystems, drill in different geological zones. Here in Russia we run the same tools, rarely something new.
If you are easy to go, just go and see. Everything would be fine. Good luck!
