I will open this discussion with the pretence that you have read my blog about a man being killed , it's on my home page...
http://www.drillingahead.com/profiles/blogs/a-very-sad-but-true-story
The story formally written took place in the seventy's.......now jumping into the 21st century, with all the JSA'S written, STOP cards, STJ and the focus on safety as being No. 1, we have seen the "Beast" take another man down. This time it was running 13 3/8" casing. I have personally worked with this group of peopleon that rig. I don't know the exact details, but none the less a man was killed, his family will be missing papa this Christmas.
The difference from the accident in the seventy's and the one today, is that we will investigate and find out "What went wrong".......it won't be swept under the carpet...it will be sad , but we'll take from what happened today to a higher level and learn from it.
I'm very happy and proud to be a part of this "New Oilfield"......our and my objective is to produce oil without the expence having injuries to my men..........when I get more details, I'll post them
