Want back on a rig

I used to work for Nabors in 07 and got hurt, after being on workers comp for 2 years Nabors won't take me back and nobody else will give me another chance. I worked for Nabors for a year and left as Motorhand and was getting on the brake handle a little. H&P was going to hire me but the doctor failed me when he saw the surgery scare on my back. Capstar was gonna hire me but I didnt live in Odessa. Does anyone have any advice. I dream about being back on a rig almost everynight.

I have heard that Nomac Drilling is looking as well as Bronco Drilling..go to the websites of each and find the Contact number there..

Thanks for those companies. I applied to those and all they could do was put me on the hands list. Capstar is the only one who called me so far but they only work 8 hour towers, so for no overtime its not worth it for me to move to odessa to work for them.

You might try some of the smaller contractors, they may not be as stringent with their requirements (Cyclone in ND/MT comes to mind). I suspect that being on workcomp pretty well shuts the door for you with Nabors. Not sure about the other majors, but from what I've seen, the hiring decisions aren't made at a local level, they're made by HR people somewhere off in some far away office by people who likely never have set foot on a rig.
