My hubby is an on-land driller, currently drilling in NE Pennsylvania right now for Patterson.  We have a daughter together and have been married for five years (together for seven).  He's pretty much been in the patch the majority of the time we have been married.  I am a stay-at-home mom, but keep busy with church and other volunteer activities (an animal league as well as being quite involved in informing people about the field here and advocating for continued drilling locally).

sorry new to this lets see what i can account for lol..
he works offshore land and any where they need him
kids? yes 5 total (19, twins 15, 9 and7)
dating/married? total dating 3 years soon to be married 4/23/11
been in oilfield? 10 years
for a living? sahm for now, but was an accounting for a lawyer
pass my time? that a good one just hope and pray for his return and also between 5 kids never ending fighting taxi games and yea i agree with everyone that said laundry!

My husband works overseas as a DA in Suadi Arabia. Together we have 2 boys and a girl (1 mine and 2 his). We have been married a total of 19 days, dated for 6 months but been best friends for about 12 years. He has been in the oilfield for almost 9 years.

I am a counselor for the court system in our hometown. Long hours and not enough pay for the stress involved :). I really try to be as social as possible to occupy myself while he is gone but it's hard to find "honest and faithful" women these days so I normally just hang out with the kids.

Hurry up and wait while my heart is about 9000 miles away.

Is your DH an an offshore rig or a land rig? Land Rig in PA. Hes an MWD Operator.

Any kids? 2.

How long have you been dating/married? Together for 2.5 years engaged since July 2010.

How long has be been in the oilfield? 2 years

What do you do for a living? I work for an environmental testing lab. I am the Office/Sales Manager. Its an awesome job, but considering moving to Virginia soon as the weather here is about to kill me!

How do you pass the time while your honey is away? Most days, I work, spend time with my kids, do Hot Yoga (not as often as I should), play softball, read, shop, depends on the day..sometimes I mope about it, but I'm trying to get over that and talking about it helps.

What do you do for a living? 911 communications supervisor

I am new to this site and new to the oilfield life so I'm hoping to find some new friends to talk to. As all of you have said, no one seems to understand or relate to you.  Besides working offshore for 3 weeks we also live 200 miles apart right now so when he is home I still don't get to see him very much. I have enjoyed reading the posts so far and think I will learn a lot from you ladies.

MIne is on land, 3 hours away, we have 5 kids, 16,14,12,10,5. A hand full when daddy is away. I keep busy with the kids activites and keeping the ouse up. I spend time with my friends and family and when he's home its our time, He doesnt liek to go anywhere though when he's home and that kinda drives me nuts cuz I wait for him and look forward to doing thing together. But I guess if were away from home half a year I just want to enjoy being at home to. Im a stay at home mom but it gets loney, especially when the kids are in school, but I try to keep myself as buzy as possible. By bed time I am just so tired.

My fiance works in Pennsylvania - we live in Michigan.

I have 2 kids age 11 and 16. He treats them as if they are his own.

We have been dating for 2.5 years, engaged for a year.

He's been in the Oil Field for a year. He was a carpenter before that.

I work for an Environmental Testing Lab, ironically, cleaning up the messes the men in the patch make! :)

I spend a lot of time with my kids, they are very athletic, I also play softball, and love to go to the beach, spend a lot of time missing my man though.

I could really use some friends that understand what life is like in this world.

Is your DH an an offshore rig or a land rig?

These days, my husband is in Ghana, Africa doing forward planning for what will be an offshore Liberia deepwater exploration drilling project

 

Any kids?

Between the two of us, we have 5 kids total, but only one still at home. She's 11. We have 2 in college, 1 on his way to the Marines, and 1 we aren't sure where she's headed . . . 

How long have you been dating/married?

Together since mid 2007; married since late 2008 - still newlyweds, really

How long has he been in the oilfield? he's been in the oilfield since the late '70s when he graduated from high school - worked his way up from roustabout on land rigs to where he's at today Deepwater Drill Site Manager (aka, Company Man)

What do you do for a living?

These days, I am a professional housewife - lots of volunteering and half completed domestic chores/projects/crafts . . . ugh

How do you pass the time while your honey is away?

I do a lot of volunteering, play softball on a church league, attend boot camps 4x weekly with my 11 year old, start a lot of projects, not all of which I finish . . !

-My husband is mostly on land rigs but has done offshore

-No kids yet but we are trying :)

-We were high school sweethearts and have been married for a year and a half

-He has been a MWD hand with LEAM drilling for 4 months now

-I am an administrative assistant at a K-12 school

-I try to not think about him being gone too much.  I work a side job for fun to keep me occupied and spend lots of time with my dogs or reading

My oilfield man works on a land rig. We have 3 kids. We have been dating for 1 year. He has been in the oilfield for 14 years. I am a stay at home mom. I spend a lot of time with my kids. When Oriana and Piper are at their dads house, Corbin goes to a sitter and I try to hang out with friends and ride motorcycles. When he is home, I try to be attached to his hip.
