It won't be easy but if you love him you will figure it out. Keep busy, give to others, be productive while he is gone and spoil him that one week he is home. Good Luck Abbey!

What part of Texas are you in? I live in NE Texas and my husband works in Louisiana. He gets to come home every 2-3 weeks for a few days at a time. It's a hard life. You just take what days you can get and muddle through the rest of them.

Abby, have a lot of patience. can you travel with him ? a lot of wives/girlfriends I know will do that. (if you have no children or other obligations) they will get a travel trailer and go with their husbands or boyfriend.

It's rough. Brad has been up there a year now, it seems as if time drags for two weeks and speeds up when he's here, but just keep busy.
Take a class or start a lunch date with your friends each week, I try to keep some project going and send him picturess to keep him involved.
Use the time to enjoy family that you have. Go visit a long distance girlfriend, and don't spend a lot of time alone!
Talk to other ladies around your area, it will get to be a routine after a while and it's like a honeymoon everytime they are home!

Well 6 months is a short period of time, however if you care for him handling it is not your problem.  You should try to keep busy with friends and hobbies.  If he has internet access perhaps the two of you can skype - that helps.  Other than that, be grateful that he is working and that he wants to start a future for perhaps the two of you.  Maybe you can join him if your schedule allows.  Welcome to the site, feel free to contact anyone on here for more support.
