Would anybody know if the pittman arms on the old Wichtex 18 spudder were originally made of oak or of steel?     I am building a 1/12 working model of the thing but the spudder I am taking measurements from has been altered so much that I am not sure if the wood arms have been replaced.     Any help would be most appreciated.

Hello Tom, I have some pics of an old wood Wichtex somewhere that I believe to be original, I look for them. Also I have a friend who worked for WalkerNeer for years and I believe Wichtex before that, he is pretty knowledgeable on that stuff, he is in hospital having some tests run right now, but he should be out in a couple days , then I'll pick his brain.
Hey Chris, that would be a great help.    Thanks for your reply and I'm looking forward to hearing from your friend too.    I just might get this thing done right after all!
