Drilling Ahead

World Oilfield Forum

I am looking to gather information on what other drilling companies are paying their hand and what kind of benefits they may be giving out. Any info from anyone would be very appreciative. Thanks.

Hello Nicholas i was wandering if you are working 12 hr. shifts there in Penn.? Do they pay you overtime after 40 without splitting up your weeks? Precision and Patterson splits you weeks in North Dakota or they did last year almost every company out there splits your weeks up to keep from paying overtime.. thanks alot..
Saxon is paying 20.5 an hout 14 on 14 off 12 hour tours
Savanna Drilling starts leasehands at 21 an hour, 28 on 14 off
We are drilling a two hole pad near Canton, This well we are going to be using the walking system, can't wait to see that in action...according to that new HSE guy for Savanna we have two more rigs showing up in PA around June and July...
Right now Kayden is doing our solids, but i'm expecting haliburton to take over everthing because they are who is doing our directional drilling( Sperry) MWD, and Mud engineering...Did you get hired on as a leasehand?

Not much really...your in worm's corner to start, and if you've worked on a rig before you should know what to expect...if not you will be doing most of the chores the other roughnecks don't want to do...scrubbing, painting, etc...

Right on I'm not working pa anymore. But when I did it was with Saxon. They were alright. In fact I thought they could be the best company out there but, I'm working for savanna energy now in south texas on a shell project. Making 26.50 plus per diem camp and shell bonus program. The insurance they have isn't the greatest but it works about as well as the others do. Communication throughout the company seems to be good. Which I can not say about Saxon. Their communication was terrible. (Between rig and office) I worked on 171. 28 and 14 grows on you eventually. U just have to give it some time and concider you are maximizing your income ability throughout the year with out going nuts from no days off. I've been in the patch for going on 13 and had to step back to a Derrick position to get on with sav but. So far they have been kind ;) I have worked for several companies and I can tell u. If my son had to work the oil field. This is where I would want him to be. Good technology decent policies and nothing seems over bearing. Just my .02
