I just got my Colombian Drivers License renewed for another four years today.....since my California's license expired....that means I can land in Los Angeles and rent a car direct at the airport.....they recognize international drivers licenses in the states!

Hey girl!
Long time since we've talked. How's everything going on youre end? I see from youre profile photo youre still with him, he doesnt have any more plans of international, does he?
I'm still in Colombia, I go home every couple of months, I was home for Christmas and New Years. I'm going back for a quick visit next week, then I'll go to Houston for a week to look at a new rig for the upcoming drilling contract this year here in Colombia.
Un Besito y una abrazo fuerte!

Working primarily in the Eagleford Shale, which covers LaSalle and McMullen counties (southwest of San Antonio), but is expanding as seismic projects are being completed. They are also finding good porosity in Karnes, Wilson and Goliad counties. Several of the majors are gearing up pretty big in the area. EOG, Common Resources, Petrohawk, Lewis Energy are probably the biggest players. Most of the wells are between 15,000 and 17,000'. High pressure and high volume. really good wells. About 4 million to drill one, but most pay for themselves after being in production for 3 to 4 months. Nabors has one of their "pride of the fleet" rigs down here (rig 454). Sent you an e-mail, talk to you later.

Very likely that my memory failed me being that long ago. I was pretty impressed with myself that I remembered both of their names. I grew up in Levelland and we used to make the trip every X-Mas until about 10 years ago and everyones families had grown so much that we started doing our own thing. I still usually make it out there after the holidays to say hellos and check on family. I don't know about this year with work just now starting to pick back up. Things are really suposed to blow wide open in the area that I'm working in, so no telling what the expectations will be. But, when I do get the chance and your if your driller is on days off, maybe we can get together for dinner or something. Be good and God Bless.

I think that i vaguely remember the cats. For some reason I keep seeing an enclosed porch on the back of their house that we used to play on. Maybe the pictures help jog the memory a little. We're talking between 30 and 35 years ago. Ouch!

I don't guess I remember Casey, but Haskell gave us a dog that was 1/2 Pit and 1/2 German Shepherd. We named him Yandelstein. Hands down the meanest dog we ever had. Dad kept him at the clinic sort of as a guard dog and some of the rowdier crowd use to bring their dogs around unnanounced to challenge him. He killed four dogs and dad finally had enough and gave him away. I'll have to get with my mom and see if she can dig some old pictures up. I know she's got some. If they can be located, I'll send you copies if you want them.

Wow, a trip back in time. I remember going to see Luzanne and playing with your cousins as a kid. Lyle and I were pretty close in age and I think Lynn was a few years younger. I was living and working in Dallas in the late 80's and saw Haskell just before he closed his practice. Well, it's good to meet you and hope that you and yours have a safe and happy holiday season. If you talk to your cousins, tell'em I said hello. What part of this roller coaster (oilfield) ride do you work in?

Don't run across many Yandell's. My dad is a retired veterinarian and had a classmate and close friend named Haskell Yandell. Are you related to him or know him. Super guy and one of a kind. Just wondering?

Don't really have any stories. I worked with Jim several times on fishing jobs in Venezuela and Colombia. Nearly everyone who worked south america carried one of his thread gauges.
It has been a long time since I have seen one. I believe he had a patent on them and made them in Bakersfield Ca.
