I started in the oilfield back in 70's working in Saudia Arabia, which believe it or not was not such a bad place to be back then.
Went to Aberdeen Scotland in 1978 and joined Dowell as a cementer working on the Sedco 700 for Phillips. Just by chance got a start as a trainee fishing hand with Servco (Smith) in 1980. In 1983 joined A-Z Intn.fishing tools and worked for them in the North Sea and Egypt. In 1989 rejoined Smith as operations supv. in their Gt.yarmouth base but the office world was not a place that I wanted to be so in 1990 left Smith and joined The Red Baron fishing tool company back in Aberdeen. Smith bought the company a few years back now so I've gone full circle. I've worked right through the middle east, North,South and West Africa. The far east, Maylasia, Brunie, Vietnam and Thailand. Nearer to home Norway, Holland, Germany, Hungary ,Chech Republic.and Spain.
I've been retireing now for the last ten years and I've never been kissed by an ugly woman as I think they are all beautiful.

Many years since we saw each other. I have been I Saudi Arabia for 17 years now. The last 12 I have been employed by Saudi Aramco and I supervize the Fishing Tools Group. We had over 130 rigs working last year, but the pace has dropped now. Good to hear your news.
