Darryl W. Maddox said… Good morning John,
I am 65 (at least for another couple of months) and started in 2006 with TDS (Technical Drilling Services) out of Oklahoma City after retiriing from teaching at Amarillo College. I live in Amarillo Tx and worked the NE Texas Panhandle for TDS, primarily Cleveland sand horizontals for Jones Energy from Austin Tx.. Then I spent about a year doing vertical wells around Elk City Oklahoma for Conoco-PHillips then back to the Texas Panhandle and more Cleveland horizontals sand wells. There were a few others thrown in there but ony 1or 2 scatttered among the Cleveland wells. In late 2010 my wife and I started Wellsite Geological Services to log horizontal wells in the NE Texas Panhandle for Corlena Oil out of Amarillo. Since then I have logged for them or Jones Energy with the excetion of two wells, one for Peak Energy of Texas and one for Baca. Those two wells were near Amarillo. I tried to get a couple of wells for Larado out of Tusla about a year or so ago but didn't. Compared to most mud loggers I have had a very limited career both geographically and geologically. I don't mind the not traveling around much but wouldn't mind seeing other rocks.
Any connections?

Darryl W. Maddox said… Hello John, Thanks for inviting me to be your friend on Drilling Ahead. I don't remember ever meeting you but please remind me of when and where if we have. I have a memory like a sieve but hate to lose track of people I've met. If we haven't could you fill me in on where you have worked, for whom etc. My experience is pretty restricted as areas and companies but I like to ask a lot of questions of people who may know something I need to know or am wondering about.
