PINEDALE, Wyo. - The U.S. Bureau of Land Management is about to open a
six-week public comment period on plans to drill 604 gas wells in Sublette
and Lincoln counties.
EOG Resources is proposing to drill the wells from 454 new well pads over
10 years. Public comment on the drilling proposal will open up Aug. 3 and
end Sept. 16.
The BLM says it will prepare an environmental study of drilling in an area
covering 218,000 acres on both sides of the Green River. In addition to
EOG's wells, other companies expect to drill another 400 gas wells in that
area.
Open houses on the drilling are planned Aug. 24 in Kemmerer, Aug. 25 in
LaBarge, Aug. 26 in Marbleton and Aug. 27 in Pinedale.
