Gotta Love The Oilfield!

I'm a female who has been mudlogging for 10 yrs. I have never experienced a dull moment out here! When it's in your blood you live and love it! I have met and worked with very interesting people out here. We can all agree on that!

I hope to see everyone back to working steady soon.

Hi Sheri, was wondering if you could help me with some questions for a class assignment due this Saturday.... What are some examples of planned down time (remedial work) done on a well, how long do these take to complete, and how much uplift can be expected? I'm looking for at least 5 examples. I know that planned down time occurs with an acid job and an artificial gas lift but how long is the down time and how much uplift is expected (a 30% increase?) -- any info you can provide would be helpful.

Hi Sheri, hope you're doing great! Just saw your page and noticed you're in muddlogging. How did you get started? Did you need a particular educational background such as geology or engineering? Are you onshore or offshore in the GOM? Sorry for the questions, I just would like to know all there is on mudlogging and the life of the mudlogger, especially as a woman. I'm changing fields within the oil industry, from HR to petroleum engineering and mudlogging really interests me. Take care.

Which company are you working for and what rig. I will be in the Victoria area, Halletsville is part of my area, when I am home. Let me know where and I come by and say "Hi"

What area have you been working in. I spent last week working in the Buffalo/ Franklin area. I will be up there two weeks of each month. Gotta run, I have to go pack for this week. Take care. Hope something comes up pretty soon.

Welcome, young lady. I been in the patch since I was 16, next door neighbor to Mom and Dad was a driller on a double drilling rig and I started working worm corner between my junior and senior year. Been working most of my life in the oilfield, got out twice for 3 years a piece and came right back. Was told by an ex-wife I couldn't find a real job. She does complain too much know she likes the child support.

Take care.
Mike
