Just do a standard side track with a pulling unit, more efficient money wise than a coil. I've done over a hundred of them. Just kick a window and go, just have a wireline company come set a diverter and run in with a mill cut a window, then come ou…

I am on 22 years in this business, damn can't I retire yet! It may sound cliche or old school but I have actually held every position from the grouund to the crown and from the rake to the brake handle. Been in mangement and consulting for the last 10 years. Just like everybody else on here my job title or description has changed recently to just surviving life! But just like all other slow times, networking is key. Technology affords us a lot larger network nowadays, especially with sites like this that Curtis has put together and so graciously hosted all of us on!

Range Resources, says their Barnett rig count will hold at 3 for the rest of 2009

Range resources has announced that although there operations have scaled back from 6 rigs in the Barnett shale to 3 working rigs in the Barnett shale.

They intend to keep the 3 operating rigs busy thru the end of 2009.

This is a good sign as Range may be indicating that the worst has already happened.

Range also indicates that the delivery of their new rigs in the Marcellus shale are on schedule and they intend to increase the rig count in the Marcellus as previously planned.

Our industry and the future of US energy.

I have been following the rig counts, the commodity prices and the markets in general. Just like the rest of the world has.

A couple of things have really stuck in my thoughts here lately.

First off the general rule of thumb when a company makes profits they have historically reinvested those profits to minimize the tax paid on the revenues.

Secondly the days of companies increasing their proven reserves by aquisition are coming to an end.

How many of us remember the slogan in the 70's....Am… Continue

Hey T.L. Merry Christmas to you.... No Halliburton boots for me, although they did come out and cement one of our deep ones recently, LOL!
Almost thought I was gonna get stuck working christmas...they threw a core job in on us at the last minute and everything that could go wrong did...thought we lost some slip dies down the hole...thought we lost half the core back to the hole...when we broke off the first barrel we had mud so we laid her down and when we brought up the second barrel we could not feel anything in the bottom....turns out we only lost the bottom 10 inches....the grapplers would not hold the sand lol!

TL, dont you think its about time for all these companies that are laying off people to start running their equipment and vehicles on natural gas instead of laying off everyone? I think we need to start applying the pressure. At least write them. Taylor
