Roughnecks And Oilfields 'Boom or Bust'

Oil and Gas drilling has seen its ups and downs through the years. The phrase "Boom or Bust"must originate with the drilling industry,  because things are either always balls to the wall going fast or so slow that workers are having to sell everything they have acquired just to survive.

Roughnecks have always been a resilient people willing to give a hard days work for a good days pay. Tough oilfield work has always attracted men from all walks of life. College educated professionals…

North Dakota & Pennsylvania to Oilfield Trash-"GET OUT!"

What it's Like To Be Oilfield Trash

Everyday the headlines read something about the hardships hard-working American men  are causing on cities and towns where drilling is occurring.

In Pennsylvania a Congressmen accuses oilfield workers of spreading sexually transmitted disease among his "womenfolks" as he calls them. The issue to him was never

"What were the womenfolks of his community doing dropping their panties for these oilfield workers" or "maybe it was…

Hydrofracking and the American Propagandist

Has the advent of the internet advanced Americas collective intelligence or has the internet made us one of the most ignorant nations in the world?  Never in our history has so much information been available to the fingertips of anyone with a keyboard and an internet connection, unfortunately much of this "information" is… Continue

New Drill Pipe Make Up Procedure

Proper initial make-up is probably the most important factor affecting the life of the tool joint connections.

How President Obama Sold Out America

How President Obama Sold Out America

Feb.8th 2011

After witnessing President Obama serve over half his presidency with a passion for reducing carbon emissions in the United States and abroad I have been dumbfounded as to why he refuses to promote natural gas as a fuel for transportation and electricity generation for our nation.

It seems a no brainer. Natural gas emits less than half of the carbon that coal-fired plants produce when producing electricity and its much cleaner… Continue

By Nathan Brewer

ELK CITY (YN) - A gas well two miles north of Country Club near Falcon Road blew out early Monday morning, causing gas to escape “uncontrollably,” according to Elk City Fire Chief Rick Shelton.

The Elk City Fire Department was contacted just after midnight Sunday, and units remained on… Continue

BP Oil Spill-The Macondo Well Decoded

BP Oil Spill-The Macondo Well Decoded

I have honestly quit watching the news in America on television. After watching CNN's Anderson Coopers coverage of the BP spill I realized that since CNN's inception when I was a kid, somewhere along the way this world news machine lost its integrity and began using world airwaves to further and promote its own propaganda and agenda.

To a young lazy American public , searching for and understand truth has become a matter of just tuning… Continue

Fracking With Propane- Anyone Familiar With This New Technology?

BP Disaster In The Gulf

The Truth vs. Media Misconceptions

"Flow Estimates"

"BP and/or the government has lied to us since the start about the amount of oil entering the Gulf of Mexico."

This seems to be the most popular misconception out there. My understanding is in the beginning BP actually made…

Your Thoughts On The BP Spill

I have started this blog as a place for everyone to post any off topic stuff concerning the Deepwater Horizon spill and efforts to contain it.

Some think BP is doing a good job-others think they are not doing enough.

Some appreciate all the efforts with containment domes and the likes while others call them crazy worthless time-wasting ideas.

What do you think of…

Letter From A Senator-Global Climate Change

I recently wrote Oklahoma Senators with my concerns over the Global Climate Change legislation.

I wanted to share his reply here and encourage all of you to share the letters you receive also.

August 19, 2009 Dear Mr. Hagen,

Thank you for your email regarding the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 (H.R. 2454). Please know I strongly oppose H.R. 2454, and I appreciate you taking the time to share your concern with me. As you know I am a strong supporter of…

The Coming Oil & Gas Boom-Are You Ready?

The Coming Oil and Gas Boom – Are You Ready?

Every new beginning is some other beginning’s end... Great lyrics from a pretty decent Matchbox Twenty song, and a great lead-in to what will soon be the next great Oil and Gas Boom!

Get ready, because it’s coming.

OK, so maybe this “boom” isn't starting off with a bang, more like a whimper...But I believe it has begun. The worst seems to be behind us as the recent stock market rally and rising energy prices may be… Continue

CNG For Free-Would It Work?

CNG For Free-Would It Work?

It’s becoming increasing clear that help from the federal government in transitioning our transportation sector to consuming cleaner-burning, less expensive and abundant natural gas is going to be non-existent. Never once throughout his campaign did our President actually come out and speak the words “natural gas will power this nation’s transportation fleet.” His administration has repeated the importance of a national energy policy, and Obama led us to assume… Continue

Alarm Clocks and CEOs Aubrey McClendon

Some things in life just don’t make any sense. No matter how many times you toss them around in your head, examine them from different angles and try to find the logic, they just don’t pan out.

On a small-scale, a case in point would be my wife’s sense of time. In our bedroom she keeps the alarm clock set 20 minutes ahead of every clock in the house. Somehow, she says, it makes her feel like she is getting more sleep. Now I have objectively tossed this one…

The "New" National Energy Policy

The "New" National Energy Policy

The recent election of our new President brought with it renewed hope of a national energy policy that would be a step in stabilizing the volatile energy markets here at home and thus ensuring work for those of us employed the in Oil and Gas sector. T. Boone Pickens and his army of followers seemed to have forced energy into the limelight, leaving aspiring politicians no choice but to respond. The message to all of us, in one form or another was… Continue
