How President Obama Sold Out America
Feb.8th 2011
After witnessing President Obama serve over half his presidency with a passion for reducing carbon emissions in the United States and abroad I have been dumbfounded as to why he refuses to promote natural gas as a fuel for transportation and electricity generation for our nation.
It seems a no brainer. Natural gas emits less than half of the carbon that coal-fired plants produce when producing electricity and its much cleaner than gasoline as a transportation fuel. Supporting natural gas seems the natural choice and would eliminate the need for all the costs to consumers associated with Cap and Trade legislation which in the end would be passed onto the American consumer in higher energy costs.
Also factor in that natural gas is now abundant right here in America with new drilling technologies. Natural gas would provide us with energy independence which would eliminate many wars, conflicts and needless defense spending. Instead of promoting the use of natural gas to clean up our environment, President Obama lashes out at natural gas producers every chance he gets referring to them as "evil" and "greedy".
I decided this evening to try to understand more at what drives the insane policy of this President and through the magic of Google I think I have found the honest answer.
Greed-President Obama Has Sold America Out For Greed.
The same greed he accuses oil companies of with every sound bite opportunity.
Lets look at the facts-Who made the election of this president possible?
That would be campaign donors, so with the power of Google I decided to snoop around some and found those below to be some of the largest donors to Obama's Presidency.
(The organizations themselves did not donate , rather the money came from the organization's PAC, its individual members or employees or owners, and those individuals' immediate families)
University of California (Berkley)
Donated $1,591,395 to the Obama Campaign.
In return for this huge contribution The Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkley) receives at least $150 million, according to the Department of Energy in grants and contributions to CERC. (CERC is basically a study on how to build more energy-efficient buildings in China) So a $1.5 Million dollar donation nets the contributor $150 million return-not to shabby, but compared to Goldman Sacs its chump change!
Goldman Sachs was the second largest donor through PAC money to the Obama campaign donating a whopping $994,795
Goldman Sachs was also among the many banks in 2008 and 2009 to receive billions of dollars in taxpayer money to help it stay afloat. Like others in the securities industry, Goldman Sachs advises and invests in nearly every industry affected by federal legislation.
By the end of 2007 Goldman Sacs had invested over 2 billion dollars in solar, wind and geothermal energy.
Goldman Sacs also owns a 10 percent stake in the Chicago Climate Exchange, where the carbon credits will be traded. Moreover, Goldman owns a minority stake in Blue Source LLC, a Utah based firm that sells carbon credits of the type that will be in great demand if cap-and-trade were to pass.
Goldman Sacs stands to make untold billions of dollars if President Obama's "Cap and Trade" legislation were to pass. Who would pay these billions of dollars? The end consumer of energy, me, you, our children, our grandchildren...
Then comes General Electric
General Electric Donated $499,130 in PAC Money to the Obama Campaign
GE is one of the world's leading wind turbine suppliers. With over 13,500 wind turbine installations worldwide comprising more than 218 million operating hours and 127,000 GWh of energy produced.

Cleaner Coal
GE is cleaning up coal. Our new system — the Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle — uses less water, increases fuel diversity and produces a cleaner fuel with fewer emissions. Read about this clean, economical, coal-to-power solution.
U.S. Climate Action Partnership
Through our partnership with USCAP, we're urging the U.S. government to enact strong legislation to reduce greenhouse gases. Learn about USCAP and how GE is addressing the challenge of climate change.
Winds of Change
GE's wind turbines prevent as much as 18.3 million tons of greenhouse gases annually, an amount roughly equal to keeping over three million cars off the road. Learn about this attractive energy solution.
Starting to get the picture?
The list that President Obama has sold out to is long and distinguished and includes other wall-street giants like Citigroup Inc , JPMorgan Chase & Co , Morgan Stanley and off wall-street Internet giant "Google". What do all these firms have in common? They all stand to gain huge sums of money if cap-and-trade were to pass. They have all made huge investments in alternative energy. Guess who will pay them this landfall? The American taxpayer for many generations to come.
Looking over the top 20 list of donors responsible for Obama's success in the last election it becomes clear that the only clean energy President Obama is interested in is energy generated by those that pull this puppet presidents strings. Not a dime in bailout money for a single natural gas producer-BUT BILLIONS for Wall-Street campaign contributors!
Those of you that support Obama might find that a harsh statement but ask yourself this. "If a clean environment is the real issue then why not support natural gas for all its clean benefits?"
The answer is 'Because nobody from the greedy natural gas producers lined his pockets on his way to this one term presidency"
Our President has sold out America to the wealthiest of Americans (Listed above) at the expense of the everyday American taxpayer. What's worse is President Obama goes on and on telling Americans how Republicans want to line the pockets of the rich as he pretends to have a genuine interest in our well-being. President Obama could care less about a clean environment. It's the selling of America that he is after.
Some day our children will have to buy back the America that we allowed President Obama to sell.
