SOMETIMES I SPENT 5 TO 6 WEEKS FROM HOME. YOU CAN JUST ABOUT STAY GONE AS LONG AS YOU CAN STAND BEING GONE, BUT I TRY AND KEEP THE 28/28 ROTATION UNLESS ANOTHERF COMPANY WANTS ME TO DO SOME WORK FOR THEM ON MY DAYS OFF. I STILL WORK SOME FOR DEVON WHEN THEY NEED ME BUT I CAN GO HOME EVERY NIGHT. RIGHT NOW THERE ARE A FEW COMPANY'S LOOKING FOR HANDS IN NIGERIA BUT I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND GOING THERE. BEEN THERE AND HAD TOO MANY PROBLEMS, AND MY WIFE HID MY PLANE TICKETS TO NIGERIA AND WOULDN'T LET ME GO BACK ANYWAY. THE MIDDLE EAST ISN'T MUCH BETTER BUT THE PAY IS GOOD. HOPE YA LL ARE STAYING BUSY. I JUST GOT BACK TO THE MIDDLE EAST YESTERDAY AND WILL BE HERE UNTIL THE 5TH OF NOVEMBER. IF THE UPPER STATES GETS SOME COLD THEN THE GAS DRILLING WILL PICK BACK UP AND I WILL BE BACK IN THE STATES WORKING 7 DAYS A WEEK AGAIN.

At 4:42am on August 8, 2009, josh brackenridge said…: is he offshore or a land rig? offshore will have no cell phone service and land rigs dont allow cell phones on the rig floor or usually within 100 ft of the hole. usually they have internet service offshore but a lot of land rigs are in BFE and you can only get a signal close to the pusher shack.
